Golden Tigers Drop 1st Game

12/10/09 -  The Golden Tigers were knocked from the unbeaten ranks by Greensburg Salem as the Golden Tigers drop their first contest of the season, 7-5, to the Lions.

The Golden Tigers dug themselves too big of a hole by going down 5-1 midway through the 2nd period.  The team rallied however to cut the deficit to 6-5  by the 10 minute mark of the 3rd but Greensburg Salem scored the next goal and then shut the door the rest of the way.

Head Coach Jeff Adams had these comments after the game.  "We told the team that the only team that can beat us is if we beat ourselves and that's what happened tonight.  We made way too many mistakes with the puck in all three zones and they made us pay dearly for those mistakes.  It's as simple as that.  We'll go back to the drawing board and hopefully fix what was broken against Greeensburg.  We have Altoona up next and they have won a couple of games lately so they should provide a good test of our character to see if we can bounce back."

 The faceoff against Altoona will be at 8 pm on Thursday, December 17th at Galactic Ice.  This is one game you won't want to miss.

 

  

Junior Tigers Defeat Westmont Hilltop

12/1/09 - The Freshman Golden Tigers defeated Westmont Hilltop, 5-1, to run their record to 5-0-1 in PIHL action at the War Memorial in Johnstown.  Macky Power recorded a hat trick and Kent Brustle tallied two goals.  Matt Gregory got the win in goal.

Next up is Westmont Hilltop again on Wednesday, December 9th at Galactic Ice @ 6:40 pm.

2006 Alumni Brandon Jones has recently returned to the States from his deployment in Iraq.
