CLASS OF 2005

A. J. Beerbower - Son of Don & Karen Beerbower of Hollidaysburg

A. J. has played ice hockey for 7 years primarily as a defenseman. His hockey experience includes in-line hockey at Sir Skate, both bantam and midget hockey for the Tracker organization, at the Midget level for the Mid-State Mustangs and for the D3 UPJ Ice Cats.  A. J. is now a Level 3 USA Hockey referee so you may see him refereeing at Galactic Ice this winter.

A. J. would like to thank his parents for all their support and his words of advice for his underclassmen teammates are to work hard and good things will come. He would like to wish his teammates good luck.

A. J. will be a junior at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown majoring in Computer Science.  A. J. is presently engaged to Heather Bice, also a Hollidaysburg alum, and plan to tie the knot after graduation in July 2009.

Bryan Koronowski - Son of Ken & Sue Koronowski of Duncansville

Bryan has played ice hockey for 9 years. His hockey beginnings can be traced clear back to Floor hockey at the H-burg YMCA. Bryan started playing ice hockey in State College along with fellow senior, Andy Magee. When Galactic Ice opened, Bryan played for the Trackers at the bantam and midget levels.  His other hockey experience includes 2 stints at Hockey Night in Boston, the Keystone Games as a Bantam, and he has played for the Midget Mid-State Mustangs.

Bryan would like to thank his parents for their years of encouragement and support as well as the coaching staff for helping him to improve as a player.  He also wants to thank Dave Weaver for everything he’s done him.

Bryan attends Penn State Altoona where he is a junior majoring in Chemistry.

Andy Magee – Son of Mike & Lynne Magee of Hollidaysburg

Andy has 8 years of hockey experience and his hockey beginnings can be traced back to floor hockey at the H-burg YMCA where at that time he was a goaltender. Andy’s ice hockey experience started in State College with skating lessons and playing on a travel team. He also played several seasons of in-line hockey at Sir Skate. When ice came to Altoona, he continued playing at the bantam and midget level for the Tracker organization.  His play can be characterized as someone who is in the right place at the right time and is rarely out of position.

Andy would like to thank his parents for all of their time and support. He thanks the Varsity team and would like to tell the Jr. High and JV teams to enjoy their time. He would also like to thank the coaching staff for all their time and effort.

Andy is now a senior at Colgate majoring in History.  He also is an officer in the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Chris McCarl – Son of Shawn & Kim McCarl of Hollidaysburg

Chris has 2 years of hockey experience and currently plays for the Hollidaysburg Varsity Golden Tigers. Chris played in-line hockey at Sir Skate. In addition to playing ice hockey, Chris played varsity football for the Golden Tigers and he plays ice hockey in much the same way. He plays a north and south type of game, he hustles and is not afraid to go into the corners for a loose puck. He is the kind of player any coach would want to have.

Chris would like to thank his parents for all their support and encouraging him to be the best he could be.  He would like to thank the varsity team for their support, fun, and memories.  He would to tell the Jr. High and JV teams to work hard and be the best you can be.  Chris would like to thank the coaching staff for helping him, supporting him, and giving him a chance to play for this team.

Chris spent the summer as an intern at S. P. McCarl & Sons HVAC and in the fall Chris will begin his junior year at Penn State Altoona majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Justin Showalter – Son of Craig & Monica Showalter of Duncansville

Justin has 10 years of in-line and ice hockey experience.  He played in-line hockey for several years at Sir Skate and then transitioned to ice hockey when Galactic Ice opened its doors.  Justin's play can be characterized as Consistency.  He plays the game fundamentally very well from both the skill side and positioning.

Justin would like to thank his parents for their years of support and encouragement and would like to thank the coaching staff for all their time and effort.

Justin spent the summer working for Auctioneer Colonel Miller and will be a junior at Penn Tech this fall majoring in Architectural Design.
